Kyle Blatz

Kyle Blatz is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer and camera department crew member with experience across narrative, documentary, commercial, and music video projects. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Film & Media, where he developed his interest in visual storytelling and cinematography.

A lot of Kyle's inspiration comes from cinematographers like Greig Fraser and Emmanuel Lubezki, along with photographers such as Richard Misrach, Justine Kurland, and Emmett Sparling. Their work has had a big influence on the way Kyle thinks about light, atmosphere, and framing.

Over the past few years, Kyle has worked in a variety of camera and grip roles on projects including Veronica, My Girlfriend Turned Into a Worm, RARE, Here to Stay, Los Padrinos, and Be Like Blippi Games, along with commercial work for Gardyn and Hearts 4 Minds.

On Veronica, directed by Brett Dos Santos and featuring Katey Sagal, Kyle worked as a Camera PA supporting the camera team throughout production.

Kyle is most interested in projects that feel grounded, visually thoughtful, and collaborative, and he is always looking to continue growing through hands-on experience on set.
